Culminating a decade-long journey through sound experimentation, Naud’s "Un Gars Bian" is an album that truly defies categorization. Blending alternative pop, electro, and funk, the album offers a vibrant celebration of Marseille’s chaotic yet joyful energy. Across the LP’s eclectic mix of English and French lyrics, the one track that stood out most to me: “Déjà Vu.”

“Déjà Vu” is a bittersweet ballad that beautifully encapsulates the essence of the album. It tells the story of a love affair that never fully took off, despite spanning across Europe. The track’s lush instrumentation fuses experimental sounds with accessible pop melodies, creating a compelling dynamic between chaos and control. Naud’s vocal delivery is both tender and powerful, perfectly complementing the track's emotional weight. It’s the type of song that you can't help but to press repeat, showcasing Naud's ability to craft poignant moments within a sea of diverse influences.

Reflecting on the album, Naud explains, “Un Gars Bian is an artistic quest, never confined to a single style. It’s about experimenting, playing with genres, and embracing the joy of chaos.” This sentiment is evident in every track, but "Déjà Vu" in particular reveals Naud’s mastery of balancing complex production with heartfelt storytelling.

The album’s title, a playful mix of Marseille slang and the phrase for “a nice guy,” embodies Naud’s approach to both music and life- benevolent, creative, and carefree. With "Un Gars Bian" Naud displays why he is one of the most exciting upcoming artists, and I can't wait to hear what he releases next.
