Li's album is a step forward from previous inhibitions while separating herself from familiar ties, resulting in some of the most mature song writing and song compositions in her discography. While When A Thought Grows Wings is missing some of the same colorful flair her previous album oozed, it's still a dense, deeply explorable record with a message any listener can gravity towards.
