Aaron Fross's new song, “Cherry Blossom,” is soft and emotive. Its slight piano melodies and lyrics linger like a dream. This delicate and meditative offering finds Fross in quite a form as he unspools a personal story.

“Cherry Blossom” is a meditation on impermanence, a fragile, almost spectral composition that wears heartache and hope on the same sleeve. The piano arrangement is beautifully understated, leaving space for each note to breathe, and Fross’s voice hovers just above it like a breeze touching petals. There’s a rawness in the performance that seems almost sacred, as if we’re being granted entry into a private moment of reflection and release.

“Bittersweet eulogy” is how Fross describes the track, which taps into a reservoir of personal experience and a lifelong commitment to art, and channels that into a piece that feels universal and unmistakably intimate. The metaphor of cherry blossoms, beautiful but fleeting, becomes the emotional spine of the song, an echo of how quickly beauty can become a thing we can never hold. It’s a reminder that everything we value is transient by nature. But rather than lament that loss, Fross evolves it into something tender and reverent.

The music video that accompanies it only adds to the experience, marrying the song's rugged emotional heft to some beautiful visual symbolism. (These dreamlike sequences reflect the song’s themes of beauty, transience, and memory.) It’s a visual slow burn that mirrors the song’s pacing down to the milliseconds, never in a rush, always allowing that frame or this feeling to land with purpose.

“Cherry Blossom” is a song that listeners stop, feel, and remind themselves. In a matter of minutes, Aaron Fross creates a timeless work that echoes long after its run time. With this release, Fross reminds us of the fragility of life and the beauty of letting go.
