boys be kko shares pulsating, deep house gem "Kanari" ahead of EP drop

Eccentric Japanese producer boys be kko, is teasing his new EP, Monnaka, with standout track "Kanari". This haunting yet captivating deep house masterpiece seamlessly combines elements of Eastern electronic sounds from his homeland with the energetic vibes of European rave music. The song kicks off with a pulsating bassline and shimmering jingles that persist throughout, creating an immersive atmosphere. Subtle electronic percussion effects gradually join in, accompanied by a celestial, melodic synth that tantalises our ears with its harmonious scales.

boys be kko, recognised for his consistent ability to keep his fans on their toes, once again presents a unique interpretation of deep house that ventures into unconventional territories in a distinctively left-field manner. The composition exudes an otherworldly ambiance, co-existing with an unwavering groove driven by a thumping bassline, glitching synths, and a boisterous cowbell, resulting in an exceptionally versatile listening experience.

Drawing inspiration from his beloved game Minecraft, kko infuses his dance music with a cinematic touch. These tracks possess an undeniable hypnotic quality, capable of propelling the dance floor into a frenzy with their transcendental allure.

On the creative approach behind the EP, boys be kko proclaims: "Labyrinth's attitude toward Japanese artists is wonderful. I remember Olly & Nick described my tracks with the word 'art'. I have great respect for their spirit and determination to release this EP. Equally, I felt I needed a different challenge compared to my past releases. I knew I needed to go back to my roots, to what I was born with in Japan. The music is almost like a sad Japanese landscape, which is the atmosphere of the title track, Monnaka. Maybe it’s just Wabi-Sabi. I paid attention to this theme throughout the whole EP."

On the EP, Labyrinth Records states: “Boys be kko first came on our radar with his stunning and hypnotising ‘Big Boys Don’t Cry’ EP (which was also remixed by Gerd Janson). Since then we’ve kept a close eye on this enigmatic talent as he had a string of successful releases on Atomnation. All 3 tracks on this EP are exactly the sort of unexpected and dynamic music we love at Labyrinth Records and we’re so excited to be working with Ryunosuke.”
