Cork alt-rock outfit Ways Of Seeing return with their atmospheric new single "Idolise", taken from their upcoming second album The Inheritance of Fear. The track signals a shift towards a darker, more urgent sound, blending shoegaze textures with raw energy and expressive, theatrical vocals.

Produced by Christian Best (Susan O’Neill, Mick Flannery), "Idolise" builds on the band’s reputation for immersive soundscapes. Up-tempo drums, pulsing bass, and intricate guitar work—ranging from fuzzed-out leads to shimmering, modulated riffs—drive the track forward with haunting intensity. The band explains: “This song explores the dangers of idolisation in a relationship or any other realm of society for that matter… Putting anyone on a pedestal means there is a good chance that you might miss the red flags attached which can lead to an unravelling into chaos and destruction."

Lyrically and sonically, the single offers a glimpse into The Inheritance of Fear, an album that explores identity, vulnerability, and the unseen aspects of the self. Following acclaim for their debut End Comes To Light, the band expects a strong year ahead, with Irish tour dates lined up across May and June.
